Comments:
This is my 4th year operating in the ARRL RTTY Round Up from my QTH, and the
second with High Power. While my total QSOs was ~4% down from last year, my
rate of over 57 QSOs/hour was up by 9% last year. I think what drove the higher
rated was this year I focused on running from the tribander – the best weapon
in my merger antenna arsenal. For me, there were some blazing rates at times.
I was able to work every state in the Union, include HI & AK, but came up
shy on the Canadian providences, thus missing some multipliers.
I REALLY LOVE THIS CONTEST – it is one of my favorites!
AND THIS TIME – it was my first contest as a RETIRED PERSON! I’ll have to
rework my QRZ.com page! You’d figure being retired I’d have more Butt In
Chair time than last year – life is funny!
