Comments:

I wasn't planning to participate this year but got talked into it to help out
the club. We did the contest last year as a M/2 so I figured setup would be
easy. I'd forgotten that the computer was replaced and did not include old logs,
MMTTY, etc.

I spent the first two and a half hours of the contest installing, configuring
and debugging to get RTTY working on both radios. I couldn't easily do SO2R at
first because the Exchange message would not stop transmitting and had to be
interrupted even though it included the %E that Writelog specified. It
unexpectedly started working later in the contest with no change on my part.

Two of our big Yagis, for 20 and 40, had elements broken and dangling after the
powerful windstorm earlier in the week. These prevented me from rotating the 15
and 10 meter Yagis on the masts above them, which were beaming toward JA. No
antennas could be rotated from within the shack.

I managed with low fixed Yagis for 15 and 20, which were pointing toward the US
on Saturday and I rotated with pull ropes to beam Europe on Sunday. Also a C31XR
fixed toward the southern US and inverted vees for 40 and 80.

The first half of my operating was with one radio due to the problem with the
exchange message not stopping. Once that resolved itself I did both 2BSIQ and
also picked off mults on one radio while running on the other.

I worked DC and all states except NM and ME, in Canada worked VE2-7 and VY1-2.

Thanks for all the Qs.

73,
-Mike, N7MH
