Comments:
I always enjoy the NAQPs and this one was no exception. I see a lot of comments
from you guys and gals about how much better the band conditions were around the
country due to the high SFI. I had mixed results from my location which is very
close to Lake Michigan. Although I did achieve another new personal best during
this CW QP for both score and mults, I had to run the Yagi long-path for most
stations on the east coast and into the south otherwise there was just too much
solar noise. After sunset things improved quite a bit on the high bands, and of
course the low bands were on fire at least from here! I was not able to get any
traction with early runs, so just did S&P most of the event.
My gear for this operating event:
ICOM IC-7610
160 Meter H-Loop at 30-60 ft.
K9AY RX loop
Cushcraft MA5B beam at 30 ft.
N1MM+ Logger
'73 to all and see you in the contests,
Bob, KE3K
