Planned a full 10 hour effort until company showed up about a
1/2 hr before the start for a quick visit. Started on 10 about
40 minutes late. Other interruptions include the
phrase "Dad can you..."
Really struggled with rapid QSB. Signals were going from S0
to S4 within a character on the high bands. I'm pretty sure
it was not an intermittent in my antenna.
Did anyone else notice that?
Worked my way down the bands. After a dinner break went to 40M
and it was a mess with very broadband frying egg interference.
Finally around 0200Z the noise went away suddenly. To reveal the
next layer of interference. The first suggests something in
the nearby strip mall which goes away when they close for
the night. The second layer presents with on and off timing
suggesting a PWM controlled furnace. Not mine. Grrr.
80M on the other hand was a dream with good rates.
Vote for the worst call to use during the NAQP, which lots
of stations use NA in their CQ message, NA1NA, I spent 20
seconds trying to figure out that one. Another pet peeve
here is zero spacing between name and location. MARVCO
and BROOKEN short circuited my brain cells every time I
heard them ;-)
Once I got on a roll, which admittedly took 1/2 the contest,
I figured 500Qs would be doable. Hit 500 with time to spare
So the challenge then was 100K points. Closing in and rolled
over 100K with about 1 minute left. I was watching the time
on a new standalone clock/indoor-outdoor temperature display
and as I found out later it was about 35 seconds fast. Slammed
in my last Q with zero seconds to spare only to realize after
the computer time said I could have made another Q. LoL.
N1MM+ says 8 hrs 40 minutes. This is the most Qs I have
ever made in this contest.

Ken - WO1N
