Comments:
What a great contest!
Some improvements from last year:
- PGXL amplifier moved to the next room. Fans in broadcast mode doesn't
disturbing anymore :-)
- intensive use of both slices on Flexradio using two keyboards
- time management with breaks was way better than last year
...and sime mistakes:
- missed JA opening on Saturday. Pokered with Sunday opening - failure. Missing
too much multis from east/far east.
- not satisfied with number of worked prefixes.
WPX RTTY 2023 was great contest. Started as usual on 40m band RUN and went to
the second break too late; slept between 0900z and 1100z, missed JA/east/far
east opening.
USA was on Sunday much better with great run on 10 and 15m. 20m wasn't so good,
despite loud signals from the west coast.
South America was good on 15m during their sunrise (Sunday)
WPX is a great place to work some interesting prefixes such as DL1640, SO25,
KH7X/WZ7, DL50.
9N7AA was loud on 10m; KL2R had blasting signal on 15m RTTY, as well as KH6ZM.
VK4SN worked on 80m.
Rig:
Flexradio 6600, PGXL Amplifier, Antenna Genius 8x2
80m GP (UA2FZ MBV 17m high 160/80m GP)
40m home made GP (Spiderbeam pole)
LZA 10-5 (10 el. 5 band beam, 2 el per band), 10m high
At the bottom, +340 QSOs, -40 MTPLs, 15% score improvement, not far away from DL
record (after UBN check score will be lower than DL4MCF record)
73, Zrinko(Zik) DK8ZZ
