Comments:
A fun NAQP RTTY in the books. We were surprised to see it has been a couple of
years since we did Feb RTTY as M/2. I was impressed how with a 100watt contest
it seemed so much easier to decode stations on 80 and 40 than it seemed to be in
WPX just a few weeks ago - I don't know if that was band conditions or just us
getting more familiar with setting the AGC-T on the new radios. As always, it
was fun to watch the online scoreboard during the contest and also to exchange
some barbs with other M/2 stations - including NJ4P who did a well and fine job
turning on the afterburners when the sun went down and leaving us well in their
dust. We had a 142% increase in our score compared to the last time we did this
contest. A lot of that is due to band conditions - but I'd also like to think
some of it is us getting the interference issues quelled at the multi-station
location and improving our contesting strategy. But it's probably the band
conditions! :-)
Thanks to everyone in the log book. This has been one of the most enjoyable
contest seasons I've had in a couple of years. 73! -doug
