K3CCR is the club station at the Collington continuing-care
retirement community at FM 18OW in MD, just east of DC. N3UM and
W5MPB operated Multi-2 LP in Feb. 2023 NAQP RTTY.
We hoped to beat the 563 Qs and 78.8 K claim we got in 7/22 NAQP
RTTY. We did that; 1.2 X the Qs and 1.3 X the mults for 1.6 X the
score. High SFI was luck; we’re glad we could exploit it.
At start 18-20Z we had to pause and fix errors in N1MM+ config for
K3 from use of Orion backup in WPX RTTY. They held W5MPB to 21 Qs,
12 on 10 M & 9 on 15 M, and N3UM to 69 Qs on 20 M.
Much better 20-23Z; by 23Z N3UM had run for 106 of 158 20-M Qs
+ 14 40-M Qs. W5MPB had 86 Qs, 74 on 15 M + 12 on 10 M.
N3UM 23-2320Z got 20 40-M Qs and left to eat. W5MPB 23-00Z got a
last 20 Qs on 15 M + 2 on 20 M, and ate in 12-15 min BKs.
Back at 0030Z N3UM was on 40 M till no one was left at 0528Z for
233 Qs, 200 in 4 runs, one at 76/hr. W5MPB 00-0230Z got 63 Qs on
20 M. A BK, then he got all 93 of our 80-M Qs 0250-0546Z, the
last 17 in a run at 46/hr.
Our Finest Hours were 00-03Z with 88, 72, and 68 total Qs. We got DC &
all states but VT, and 7 VE PVs. Only 1 NM on 20 M and 1 WV on 80 M.
