Comments:
This contest was a lot of fun. I found conditions to be not superb, but quite
good. Good enough, anyway. I put in an hour Friday evening and then resumed
operating mid-morning Saturday. I was happy to find 15 open (with some
opportunities to work EU, and 10 also open but to a lesser degree. I was
surprised to find 20 not very open at all. Twenty is normally Old Faithful, but
on Saturday it had taken a holiday. On Sunday, I found 20 had returned and it
was pretty good, and so was 15 (although not as good as on Sat.). I didn't hear
much at all on 10 on Sunday.
I found the bands nice and quiet -- good for listening. There was very little
static, except for on 40. However, for whatever reason, a lot of the signals
were not very strong. For instance, on Sunday I worked AA3B on 15 meters.
Normally, he'd be at least 589 with his big station, but today, it was more like
559. His signal was small, but the band was quiet and it was easy to copy him.
Thanks for the qsos! 73, Larry
