Comments:
As it became dark on Curacao, the band noise was as bad as I'd heard it in the
21 years I've been operating from the PJ2T station.
Within the first minute, I was called by PY5ZH. I struggled for the next 2.7
hours to pull out seven more calls and reports. Then the SWR on the transmit
inv-L went to over 22:1. After investigation, I had discovered that the support
for the vertical portion of the inv-L had come off of the 50-foot point on the
WARC tower, and the antenna was a 'Sagging-J', with much laying on the ground.
Worked: PY5ZH, WE4S, K9DX, KP2M, N0TT, K5TIA, K1WHS, and W9RE. Of these, only
KP2M was easy copy.
