Comments:
Summer conditions for sure. 15 and 20 shared status but at different times as
the money band. 40 was okay but not much casuals activity. 10 was basically
eskip with EF4HQ pretty much a fixture all day here. It was tarting to improve
as the contest ended at 1130Z. 80 and especially 160 were wastelands on SSB.
But W1AW/KH6 moved for me to 80M when he called me on 40 and was S9 solid copy.
He had been CQing earlier on 80M with very few callers.
I didn't think the SSB HP record was beatable given how bad 10, 80, and 160 were
with so few mults. But the all night long 20M to EU and some deep Asia on 20
and 15 took up the slack. You have to take what this contest delivers.
A lot of EU activity. Some US but not a lot. Usually more on 40 and 80 from US
but a lot of thunderstorm activity drove people off I think.
A very fun contest.
I noticed a surprising difference in signal levels from the WRTC competitors.
On 15M in the first hour, the strongest was S9 solid and weakest were S3 - 4.
In the span of about 20 minutes. I didn't keep track of it all contest but
noticed it throughout the 24 hours.
Thanks for all the Qs. See you in the fall...
