Flex 6400 at 100W with a Spider Beam antenna, including a 40-meter add on
rotatable dipole at 35 feet. Top of 85-foot hill helped a lot. I had a great
start with 66 QSOs in my first 50 minutes on 20-meters. had a nice second run 30
minutes later also on 20 meters. 20 meters gave me a third run around 10 o'clock
for a half hour or so. I was able to search and pounce a bit but thought things
were drying up. Shortly after midnight when I was considering calling it a
night, I had a great run on 40 meters with 57 QSOs in 34 minutes. That was loads
of fun and on 40 meters, too. The rotatable dipole is only a few weeks old and
met my expectations. Towards the end in the last 15 minutes of the contest I had
an 8-minute burst of action that added another 14 QSOs and 3 more multipliers.
The NAQP is a great contest for a Little Pistol station to compete. My best
previous effort had me ranked 200th. I'm pretty sure I will move up the ranks
this time. I'm looking forward to the next CQ Worldwide DX Contest, SSB and ARRL
Sweepstakes Contest, SSB to see how I can do.
