Comments:
The last two years we have had some pretty bad weather storms come through which
meant I wasn't able to put up some of my 'field-day style' extra aerials, but
this year no such problem so I was able to add a few extras and also have the
tower at full height. This year we had solar storms instead!
The plan was to beat last years score if possible, operate for more hours than
last year and have fun. A win on all three counts!
The bands were in great shape here until about 17:00 when things seemed to die
right down, and stayed pretty poor until about 23:00. About 03:00 Sunday morning
I crashed for a couple of hours and then kept plugging away until 20:00 Sunday
evening when I just found I couldn't concentrate at all so decided that was the
time to stop.
My operation was 100% S&P and I want to thank you all for pulling my signal
out, there are some stations out there who really do have phenomenal hearing
capabilities. In fact I was so surprised at being heard on a few occasions I had
to check the K3 was really set at 4.9 watts!
Thanks for the fun times, see you in the next one.
