First of all sorry for messy replies from time to time. I'm still learning this
2BSIQ stuff. When pile-up gets out of hand and sync fails, then it is quite
tricky.
Anyway this time I did not go to sleep at all and took the full 48 hours. Right
now, as I'm writing this story, my world feels like in super slow motion (I did
sleep about 6-7 hours after the contest). Getting out of this will probably take
a day or two.
This was the first time in years, where I had my station ready on Thursday and I
don't have to worry much on Friday.
Contest itself started promising. Main idea was to find decent balance between
quantity and quality. Started running on two bands and it seemed quite fine.
First day overall was no drama. I knew that QSYing people anytime and anywhere
is the key. Thanks to the guys who sometimes did 4 or even 5 band QSYs. OH0,
LX8M, UA2FZ, E29TGW, ER1KAA, 4L9M and that dude on Isle of Man whose callsign I
cant remember right now, to name a few. Yet there was a lot I missed this time
and just couldn't find. Worked Zone 1 once, Zone 19 once, Zone 29 twice.
Basically stations that I normally work in ease were not there this time.
Highlight of Saturday night was to find out that in complete dark before
midnight, 10 and 15 were full of super loud US stations. So instead of 40m noisy
agony I was having fun running 10 and 15 simultaneously.
Sunday about 6 hours before the end I was already having a nightmare, that I
still hadn't work Z22,23,24,25,27,28,29, 30 on 80 meters. Decided to go there
and boy oh boy when the Asian pile-up started including about 50 JAs, all those
missing zones and some more.
If only we could have a CQWW weekend without Aurora...
Now it is time take a longer break from contesting and station building. Foot of
snow already arrived over the weekend.
See you somewhere in spring.
Kris, ES7GM
