Comments:
Given the great conditions during the CQWWcw, we had high hopes for a similar
situation during the ARRL 10m contest. This did not come true unfortunately.
Conditions on Saturday were rather poor due to the much deteriorated solar flux
over the last week. In the morning the opening to the east was not very good and
we had the impression activity was also not fantastic. Many "standard"
countries were not present ... In the afternoon many NA stations did not bother
to work Europe while the band had its meager opening, and started to work each
other for state/prov multipliers. The band closed early for us, around 15:45 or
so. Sunday was slightly better and so signals were louder. Quite a few VKs and
DUs in the morning and in the afternoon mid-west USA station were clearly louder
than the day before. Many new states went into the log. Only a most of the W7
states remained open. Being one of many Dutch stations it was hard to raise a
decent run, so we did a lot of S&P. Band closed a little later than on
Saturday.
All in all we had fun, but would have liked to end with a much higher number of
QSOs.
FTdx10, 400W, 4 el OWA yagi @ 11m (and a 5/8 vert which we never used)
