Comments:
Both K3TN and I had other commitments this weekend and he agreed to come over to
make up a M/S entry at N1RM. I operated Friday and Saturday and experienced
propagation straight out of the twilight zone. It seemed that there was always
some part of the world that I could work, but it seldom lined up with my beam
heading. It was actually kind of fun, or at least not boring! The station
played well throughout. When the run rates dropped I had great success hunting
mults working all but the rarest on the first or second call. We worked all CW
just as a self-indulgence.
K3TN took over early Sunday morning and I peaked over his shoulder for about 1/2
hour, watching the rate meter climb high and stay there. You can read and talk
about operating technique all you want, but to me there is nothing so
educational as watching a really good op in their element. He operated less
than half the time I did and made nearly as many Qs. What luck to have him on
the team!
Thanks to the PVRC folks who posted to the online scoreboard. I usually leave
the club page displayed and it adds lots to the experience to watch the horse
race within PVRC.
Thanks for all the Qs.
