OTOH, with an undersized transformer, the voltage drops considerably
under load.

Few amateur radio amplifier manufacturers observe capacitor
manufacturers' RF current ratings.

What? ....so you don't think 5.9v is okay for a 3-500Z filament? Why

I heard by the grapevine that Denny was responsible for Dentron,
Ameritron and Amp Supply. Dentron sought protection under Chapter 11
reportedly because of an astronomical product return rate. .Ameritron
was next. When Denny got into trouble with Ameritron, he was forced to
sell out because of the 7 year requirement on Chapter 11 refiling. Amp
Supply was next but it too folded. At the end, lots of people never got
the Amp Supply replacement parts they paid for. I guess it could be said
that they got haad. Ameritron is the only surviving name. However,
Ameritron changed hands again. MFJ reportedly picked Ameritron up from
the second owner in a divorce court community-property settlement, so
Ameritron is called something like MFJ-Ameritron..
OTOH, what might have happened instead if Denny had taken Eimac's free
advice?
