This tube has been a popular VHF/UHF candidate for many years. It is used
in a very limited application so has escaped the typical HF crowd.
I agree with Ian that any GG use will result in a garbge signal and a
short life if operated anywhere close to its AB1 dissapation capability.
The 7213 was NOT designed for SSB service, but instead found its primary
use as a UHF amp for military troposcatter in AM and Data modes. Note
that these were almost ALL linear service so the tube is not all bad at
SSB. Ian would be the best source for Eg and Es regulation data.
The SSB specs were published only in the ITT manual to the best of my
knowledge. They and Burle may be the only sources of new
replacements....dont even ask for prices..
There is at least one military cavity that can output an easy 2 KW on
70cm.
