John,
Years ago MFJ is said to have had lots of Q/C problems. For instance a
cousin of mine bought their differential-T tuner and it rolls very rough.
Today they're still mass-market (Chevy-like) but seem improved esp at their
higher end products. My brother & I have run 989Cs with Al-811H for three
years; handles KW easily and flattens dipoles/slopers. The other gentlemen
have made some excellent comments as well on other manufacturers.

I have been considering buying an MFJ-989C tuner for my Ameritron
AL-1200.Some of the comments I have been reading are leading me to
reconsider. What is up with this the MFJ products?I was under the
impression that they made good equipment. John KB9RPM
