I just got back from RCA (now Burle Tubes) in Lancaster, PA. One of our 7835 super power tetrodes (GG, 200 Mhz, 3 MW output pulsed) had a 1/4 inch hole in the grid wires, yet it was still functioning when pulled out for rebuilding!
