Hello again,

First off, let me say many thanks for the informative replies about the
various no tune amplifiers that have appeared through the years.

The Central Electronics unit was the older one I mentioned that had an
unconventional input/output section. The description of it's circuit
operation was one interest of mine.... as well as it's spectral purity.

Thank you for the Alpha information Mr Ehrhorn, it is very good. I'll try
to research the Ham Radio Magazine (rip) article Mr Chadwick mentions.  I
thought the entire "no tune" amplifier  was one "rocket science portion"
of amplifier design/construction that I missed out on.
Would it be safe to conclude that the design and operation of the
amplifier is a practical tradeoff for an operator, willing to trade
efficiency/power level for speed/ease of tune up (ie contest type
operation)? 

Any other comments or information are greatly appreciated.
