IMHO, a pair would be "right out!"  the two 8875's have a COMBINED 
plate dissipation of 800w,  just right for a SINGLE 3cx800.  

two of them would be likely to lure the operator into trying for too 
much power, which would let the smoke out of the dentron's tank 
circuit and power transformer.  

the cooling requirements of the 3cx800 are quite different from the 
8875's, too. 

still, i think this is a viable conversion. look how much 
replacement 8875's cost!
