If you didn't laugh too hard at the previous idea.. here's another:

I have a 500 Volt one ampere power transformer that is screaming "choke
me".  Now if I hook the secondary in series with the 3.2 KV guy..
assuming the insulation can take it, and put a high value capacitor
(maybe a couple of back to back electrolytics with series diodes) across
the 110 Volt primary.. maybe even resonate at 120 Hz.. would this make a
decent, low buck choke?  I love the smell of burning enamel and potting
compound.. worth a try, or is it party time?
