Last year I mentioned here that an engineer friend stopped by to show me
a switching supply he had designed for the US military. It delivered
2000V @ 250ma and fit in the palm of my hand. It also cost $2500 in
production quantity !
The technology exists but limited production custom components are cost
prohibitive to us taxpayers.
