Thought you would like to read how to add 10 meters to a SB-200 or =
SB-220

I think you will get a kick out of this

If you are finding a black box inside the unit it is what screws the =
amp up on ten. A friend KH7RS Rick has a sb200 that heath made and since =
I had the older model we were talking about the amps. He said the only =
thing he had to do was remove the black box. I can't recall the actual =
function but I believe it chokes the freqs around 10 out. From a lousy =
memory his words were it's so simple, all they did was put a little =
black box in the amp. Anyone could figure out how to get it on 11 meters =
or 10. Yours is a 220 and I'm not sure but if you are finding a black =
box connected in there that isn't a regular part of your tank circuit =
I'd take a big guess on it's value in your DX carrier on 10 meters. =
Standard parts in the tank are......... K If it's not a big cap, silver =
mica, or big coil it's history in my book or as I refered to it with a =
joke context. "Revalue" or what ever word I chose. Kind of a strange way =
to put it but I kind of don't know if you are a CBer using a ham call =
e-mail or what. Kick back and just look at the amp as a simple design of =
heathkit with generic parts. If any non standerd devices are in there =
just flip a coin. Not good advice at least by sound. Better yet talk to =
KJ6UK. I'm sure he would be able to give you the area it most likefully =
is. He worked electronics for a carier plus a big helper is he likes to =
run his 220 on 40 meters. Good luck with your problem and I'm done =
jabbering enough to cover my week end I'll be spending on and off again =
in the field with the Army artillery. They always pick a contest week =
end this year so far to go to the field. I'm amazed. They must have QST =
or something. Concerning the rf choke device like the SB-200 I'd kind of =
bet they attached it to one of the band switch terminals and put it over =
to ground. But I'm not rich or anywhere near it so...... Good luck ! I =
hope you know what a silver mica is. Don't take one of those out.
