I happen to live quite near Ron, GW3YDX, who as Vine Antennas is the UK
agent for Alpha Power amongst other things. Over Christmas I heard him
using something called an 'Acom 2000', which from his description sounds
rather like a self-tuning and loading Alpha 87A but with 4CX800s. It seems
to have a remote interface, provision for several antennas and -- from what
Ron was saying -- is exceptionally well made. I gather that in the UK it's
likely to be about 3,500 pounds, which is considerably less than the 87A.
Anyone know anything else about this machine? I think Ron may have a web
site but don't know the URL.
73 and Happy New Year to all QRO folk everywhere,
John
