A week or so ago, someone asked what industrial uses were for
8877/3CX1500A7 triodes.

There must be a few hundred (?) Broadcast Electronics FM1.5A transmitters,
that use this in grounded grid, cathode driven operation, at 88-108 MHz.
They were sold worldwide from 1984 until ?, and use a folded lambda/2
(1/2wave) copper water pipe for a tank circuit. It was driven by a
push-pull BJT (bipolar transistor) stage, based on the TRW design from
France - PT9383, later replaced with Thomson SD1460 devices.
