Hello again,

Does the 8171 require a filament choke? What is the "classic"
construction method for large filament chokes in an amplifier of "this
size"?

Henry 8877 amplifiers in the console form had the filament transformer in
the power supply pedestal, fed up with large wire to sprague "bulk-head"
feed through caps.

What would one use as an 8171 high current panel feed through cap(s) if
required?

thanks

The

4CX5000/8170 or

? Filament-current is a mere 75A. Dahl makes a compact transformer.
Tube handles are mighty nice. 8171s are typically a good buy in the
surplus market. They can be had for under 6-cents per watt.
