? With this combo, the radio starts making RF before the amp. can
switch. This results in hotswitching. A better (and >15db quieter)
solution is to convert the SB-200 relay supply from half-wave neg. output
to fwb pos. output, remove the stock way-too-slow relay, rewire the grid
ckt to the std. config. (like the SB-220), and install high-speed
switching. See Fig. 7B on my Web site or 1-1994 QST. Total cost is c.
$60. After conversion to H-S sw., the 200 can be keyed with the
"RL"/+12v on Tx/ output from the 450's Acc. Jack.
