For sale 3CX-3000A7 HF 10m-160m amplifier 75% completed
complete design and set of parts except tube.
* First-class big HF amplifier with power supply and sub-RF deck in
professional cabinets completed. RF deck needs cabinet and needs to be
built to complete project.
* Peter Dahl hipersil transformers 5KV plate XFMR, 7.5v at 55A
filament XMFR with constant voltage filament supply circuit (Sola
constant voltage XFMR, etc.. right out of tube Mfr's design manual).
* Two General Electric oil-filled 25 uF at 7.5KV filter capacitors
with custom transparent rigid poly cover to
* Protect HV terminals from accidental contact
* Simpson wide-vu meters (4 each) including backlighting and mounting
kits custom labeled for plate voltage, plate current, grid current, and
filament voltage (a colored band indicates normal operation range).
* K2AW silicon alley heavy duty HV rectifier modules mounted on heat
sinks for cool operation,
* Custom-made bias printed circuit board and tuned input board
professionally manufacture and assembled using Potter & Brumfield relays,
silver-mica transmitting capacitors, and toroids to form pi-networks for
each band.
* Pi-output network components include Jennings vacuum variables:
load C is 25-2500pF and tune C is 15-500pF with mount for chassis
mounting. Roller inductor is Gates 26-VC-2144 with wiper nice and tight
for good contact with bar stock of coil. Includes insulated
coupler/drives. 3 turns counters for above components plus Switchcraft
10-position mutually exclusive switch for band selection or tuned input
circuit bypass..
* Power supply build with soft-start (step-start) contactors and
initial HV bring-up through resistors to protect rectifier. Also uses
time-delay relays for timing circuit (blower stays on after filament
released).
* RF parts socket/chimney assembly complete ( Eimac SK-14 ) will
include this or can exclude for $280 lower price than below (please
specify preference).
* Includes B & W BBC-5K plate choke and pi-networks with hockey puck
capacitors, also eight (8) 500pF at 30kV red RF capacitors plus numerous
smaller ones for filtering, mounting components, etc.
* Jennings vacuum relays for input/output and Teflon dielectric
coaxial cable
* Large blower for tube cooling approx. 18 inches diameter
* Filament regulation circuit is in sub RF deck so to extend filament
voltage to RF deck, this includes pair of 2 AWG welding cables with
Hubbell quick-disconnect in middle to RF deck to sub RF deck detachment.
* Power supply is complete, sub RF deck is complete.. just needs RF
deck
I have $4,500 invested in the above new/mint parts/components package;
will sell for best offer over $2,500 less than $0.50 per watt !
