Rich: I recall reading an article on the W2PV contest station a number of
years back which mentioned that they had trouble over time with the RJ1A
vac relays in their Alpha 77 amps doing QSK. I don't know if the trouble
was the contacts or the clapper assy. I have always felt that the vacuum
environment helps the contact life but probably is not helpful to the
mechanical clapper life.In fact it may be a disadvantage. I think the
