Well, a silver plated antenna probably WOULD conduct better than pure 
aluminum!  But would you pay for it?

Perhaps the Q of an antenna is not critical like the Q in a resonant 
cavity.  Material losses cause a decrease in Q which kills the resonance 
of the cavity.  I suppose it affects the antenna as well, but probably is 
something we can all live with.
