Bring the discs to a machine shop, knob and all if you have to, have them
put the knobs on a lathe or similar device and turn them. Turning will
reestablish the circular machined lines on the original discs. You can even
attempt this yourself by attaching the knobs to a motor... To get different
finishes is quite easy.
To get a shiny center, they simply polish the aluminum outright with a light
rouge.
To get a circular machined look, they rotate the knob at high speed and use
a sharp fine tool and work the center to the outside of the disc.
To get a starburst type pattern the knob is rotated slowly or in set degrees
and a brush style polisher is applied perpendicular to the knob.
Practice on a set of Radio shack knobs and you can do this job easily
