If I'm not mistaken, contact no. 9 goes to the padder capacitor.  The other side
of the padder goes to the plate.  This is the high potential point.  Contact no.
7 is grounded.  The arc can be from contact 9 to ground (burning just contact
9), or contact 9 to contact 7 (burning both of them).
