I acquired a SB220 that hasn't been powered up in a long unknown length
of time. It was also partially disassembled as if someone had been
troubleshooting it. Initial resistance checks are ok and I used a
variac at 10 percent voltage (12 volts) to do some initial voltage
checks which were as expected..

Should I continue slowly bringing it up on the variac? Will sustained
low filament voltage bother the tubes? Or should I remove the tubes for
this process?

BTW, I'll switch it over to 220VAC after I get it checked out. Don't
think my 120 line in the shack will be able to tolerate this amp at full
power.
