I've heard this phrase several times on the reflector in recent days. Could
we please stop claiming that our amps are "unconditionally stable?" I
suspect that few if any of us have ever measured the s-parameters and truly
established stability. Plus, it is a far more stringent criterion than any
of us need.
The term has a specific meaning in network theory. It doesn't mean "I
twiddled the knobs all over and even disconnected the load and it didn't
oscillate," which is really all we need.
