Hi all
I've been reading this thread for a while and want to ask a question.
When one sees tests done on receivers they typically will give
figures for such things as blocking dynamic range or 3rd order
intercept. Picking an ARRL review of a typical receiver, the
Kenwood TS-950SDX we have (at 14 MHz, no preamps, etc)
Blocking dynamic - 131.8 dB
two tone IMD - 94 dB
3rd ord intercept 3 dBm
Yippee - does anyone have any idea of what the theoretical maximum
and/or the current practical maximums would be on these? Since
I've seen the FT1000D has a 3rd order of 21 I can tell that it's
better than the 950 - but - how much better could one yet go?
