IMD increases because there is no such thing as 2 perfectly matched tubes.
Uneven load sharing no matter how small will increase IMD. The higher the
number of tubes and the greater the mismatch the higher the IMD. What's
"acceptable" is open to interpretation. In this writer's opinion having a
bunch of bottles in parallel is Mickey Mouse.
