This has been my point the whole time! Nice that someone
else also can understand.
What I probably been after the whole time is why G2DAF
seems to work just fine with G2DAF and it there are other
tubes that would do it too. However most of the technocratic
brains on the reflector been far "too technocratic" to come up
with something constructive, K7FM is an exeption and maybe
a few others but my brain is thired this early in the morning
so he is the only one that pops up.
Talking about WPX, the station SL3A was probably also using
a DAF amplifier.
Did anyone on the reflector react on the quality of the signals
from
KQ2M and KM3T? They quite excessive bandwith for normal SSB
and also sounding very bad, very high rate of distortion. To me it
sounds like they are running something like 200% modulation.
So does anyone react? If we are going to clean up our bands it´s
frontrunners like that that got to get their act together first so
others
can follow suit.
And NO I did NOT have the noiceblanker on and again NO there isn´t
anything wrong with my receiver and 3rd NO I´m not stupid. Now you
guys don´t have to ask me since you already got the answers.

OK,
To those of you who's blinders and paradigms of the way you think things
should be keep you from seeing objective reality outside the box,
listen up.
I don't care how much theory one says about amplifier configurations,
the
real test is in what the signal sounds like on the air.
I have worked Peter, SM2CEW, twice in the last year. The last time was
today during the CQWWPX contest. Both times Peter was using a G2DAF
amplifier and BOTH times, the audio sounded crystal clear nor was there
any
splatter. In fact, today I purposely listened on either side of Peter's
frequency and believe me, he wasn't splattering at all. And he was at a
spot in the band were there weren't many other stations, so I would
know it
was his splatter.
Some of the world's greatest scientists said the earth was the center
of the
universe. Others said the world was flat. If even the greats like
Aristotle can be wrong, I think some self proclaimed experts on this
list
can be to.
Think outside the box, folks.
