Hi everybody,
I have a GI7b (Russian triode, 350W, 3 GHz) which I use in a 144MHz GG =
amp.
I'm thinking about swamping the cathode with some resistors, in order =
to:=20
a) lessen the risk of higher freq. parasitics! and=20
b) raise the drive requirements somewhat (currently ~25W for full =
output) to 50W=20
(cause this is what my tranceiver will output)
I figure that I'll need somewhere between 100 and 800 Ohms to achieve =
the goal,=20
I guess I'll have to experiment to find the most suitable value.
Any comments on the merits of such a modification?
Did I really step in it asking this?
