One interesting item I saw some years ago from
A&A Engineering out of Southern California was an
external audio delayed vox circuit.

The audio was detected to control ptt logic before
the delayed audio was presented to the mic circuit.

I believe external amplifier ptt logic was also
available from the circuit which installed between
the mic and the radio.

A&A Engineering used to advertise quite a bit, but
alas I haven't seen anything from them in some
time. I thought the approach rather novel.
