Which often is exactly what you want i.e. just gain enough to boost your
tranceivers 100W output to your final reguirement.
I have recently finished building a QB4/1100 (tetrode) GG amp giving a
little over 600W out for 100W in, which was just what I wanted. With a
little more Ua t would probably have had some 10dB gain and thus 1KW out. I
only had some 2900V available (An ex. FL2000B frame and plate transformer,
now proudly spotting an FL2000/QB decal!)
