The most common output configuration for tube amplifiers, at least in
the FM broadcast applications, is a tuned cavity with a shunt variable
line (tune) and a series capacitor (load).
This is quite efficient, relatively easy to be built and allows a big
range for tuning. The back side of the horse is the requirement of a
consistent low pass filter, a filter that's anyway a must when the
harmonic and spurious content has to be really 70/80 dBc down.
