Power Limits?

The Communications Act of 1934 says that you cannot use any more power than
necessary to communicate. That means on weak signals or heavy qrm or
competition, you are limited only by your wallet, imaginatiion, technical
ability - or how huch you can carry away from your employer without getting
caught.

It is a very considerate operator who fashions his station so that a foreign
dx station can hear his station clearly over all of the competitors. Good
manners almost obligates one to do so.

And, knowing that there is a power shortage in many parts of the world, it
would be generous and ecologically sound to use sufficient power and a large
enough array so that dx stations half way around the world can hear you with
a passive receiver (crystal set).

These are some of the new year resolutions that could be adopted by members
of the AMPS.
