Jim, I recall the same results, the ALC was quite inconsistent from
band-to-band. There's a mod in QST June 1993 page 74 that will lock out the
Titan on a grid overcurrent. I used to haul my Titan to our club shack for
contests and the lockout gave me piece of mind when other folks would
operate the amp. I "hid" the reset switch and only a trusted few knew where
it was!
