Has anyone ever tried using the microwave oven with a pulse position modulator
(or even pulse width modulation) to make a high power 2.4GHz tx? Would appear to
be a cheap approach: of course, the power levels to an omni antenna might give a
few problems to WLANS and other non protected services in the band........

Looks like it would certainly be legal in the UK (provided you kept the PEP down
to 400watts) and shouldn't be a problem in the US. You just need an old hydrogen
thyratron.....or a very high voltage SCR
