? For full-wave rectifier, choke-filter supplies, and all half-wave
rectifier supplies, yes. Capacitor-filter supplies and resonant-choke/C
filter supplies have built-in spike suppression, so a MOV is money down
the crapper, except for testing a transformer with no load.
