//Far as I can tell, the shininess is of value for photographs only.
However, I used to coat my tank inductors, etc, with a wipe-on silver
plating compound called "Kool Amp," which added a thin silver coating that
stayed bright and attractive for a long time. I wonder if that stuff is
still made-?
