My good friend N4AVV just got in a brand spanking new Alpha 99, he is in
LOVE, BUT there is a slight problem. The unit as shipped will not transmit
above 18Mhz, AVV sent in his license (extra from the 20wpm days) but did not
recieve anything pertaining to unlocking the higher freqs in the box.
As AVV's luck would have it, there is NO ONE at Alpha today, I guess they
are coming in from Dayton.
If ANYONE COULD PLEASE E-MAIL ME DIRECT with ANYTHING that could help ol
Bill out, we'd both appreciate it, he is an ol d dear friend who happens to
not be very interested in the Internet.
We ARE NOT CB'ers!!!!!!! It's just 3 grand plus is a LOT pay and not be able
to operate it above 18Mhz. That really struck me as odd, when there are some
amps that ANY IDIOT could simply LOOK inside and tell what to cut to make
one play, and those are a LOT less expensive than this Alpha. What a wierd
world in whcih we live....
