It is arguable that if the capacitors get hot, they are being used above their
current rating.
The question then arises as to what service the amplifier is intended for - just
like the sweep tube amps are designed for low duty cycle SSB, it is possible to
get away with caps rated for low RF current in a low duty cycle operation. But
then don't even THINK of higher duty cycle modes, such as even compressed SSB,
let alone SSTV, RTTY etc - or even a CW contest.
