Replacing the switch worked. I found one exactly like it at Lowes. I was
told that the amp is most likely getting 12Amps, the switch is rated for 10A
at 250V, 16A at 120V. I got a lot of great advice on fixing this thing. Thx
to all!! This is the 5th time I have replaced something major of sorts in
this amp over 4 years and I've learned from every fix. That said, I'm getting
about 1,800W out with the new switch in driving the amp with just 100Watts-
65 watts is now delivering 1,360W. I didn't think that would happen but the
old switch must have caused other unseen problems. Of coincidence, I
recently changed out my 12V switching power supply for my 756Pro and noticed
a decent increase in my rigs max output from 113W to
126W.....voltage...............hummm..................
I was on my way to Boulder to pick up a Alpha 99 too but they didn't have any
available for the next 6 weeks- Turned around and got the switch after
coming to my senses- Most likely will make the move to that or a 87A sometime
in the near future-
73 es Thx! Paul N0AH
